Redditch Market Cancellation until further notice
*** PRESS RELEASE ***
V.C. DAY WILL COME (Victory over Coronavirus)!
In response to government guidelines, it is with a heavy heart that Sketts will not be operating any markets from 5pm 23rd March until further notice due to the Coronavirus. As one of the oldest market operators in the country, this is an unprecedented decision not seen in the whole of our 64 years of trading. The situation is under constant review by Management in line with Public Health England and Local & National Government advice.
This decision has not been taken lightly but serious consideration has had to be taken with regards to the ability of; Implementing and governing of social distancing, the unavailability of public conveniences/washing facilities and most importantly the safety of us all. Our office staff shall continue to work from the safe environment of their homes and will endeavour to keep everyone informed as much as possible. There will also be updates on our website [www.sketts.co.uk]www.sketts.co.uk.
Historically Sketts have survived and triumphed over many a crisis that has been out of their control, including riots, financial crashes and foot and mouth disease. We see this challenge no differently and look forward to resuming to business as usual.
We are hopeful that local and main government will be true to their word and provide the much needed support for all as promised and further help provided for the self-employed.
Finally, we must acknowledge our admiration and full support of all the keyworkers out there on the frontline.
